Epigenetic alterations

Your genes do not change. How they are read does.

Epigenetics covers the modifications that drive gene expression without touching the DNA sequence itself: methylation, histone modifications, regulatory RNAs. With age these marks drift and gene expression becomes aberrant.

This is where epigenetic clocks come from. They now estimate biological age with remarkable accuracy, often beating chronological age at predicting future health.

What is at stake

Why it matters

This is the most plastic of the nine. Unlike DNA mutations, epigenetic marks are reversible: they respond within months to sleep, food, physical activity and stress.

It is also the most measurable. A biological age test gives concrete feedback on whether your choices are working, where the scale and the mirror say almost nothing.

DNA is the text. Epigenetics is the reading of it. And a reading can be corrected.
